2024 June 4 35th Anniversary Commemorative Events
In 2024, it is the 35th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, the 10th anniversary of the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong, and the 5th anniversary of the Hong Kong anti-extradition bill protests. This year, the Vancouver Society in Support of Democratic Movement will continue to speak out against injustices as always, and we hope to walk alongside you in the fight for freedom, democracy, and human rights.
1. May 26 (Sunday) Democracy Walk
Gathering Venue: Granville Loop Park (Granville St & W 5th Ave)
Gathering Time: 2pm Walk starts at 2:30 pm and will end at the Chinese Consulate at 3380 Granville St. (at West 16th Ave.)
2. June 2 (Sunday)
Wreath Laying at the Statue of the Goddess of Democracy to remember the thousands of students and civilians who died in Tiananmen Square in 1989.
